• APPROXSEM PROJECT (Semantic approximations and electroencephalography)
In order to better understand how young children generalise the verbs they learn to new situations, we study the neural and cognitive processes underlying the processing of semantic approximations (e.g. saying “she undresses the orange” instead of “she peels the orange”) using the evoked potentials (EEG) method.
Objectifs scientifiques
We are currently seeking in particular to determine whether certain verbs are more easily generalised than others.
Project partly funded by the INCCP, by the University of Cergy-Pontoise (CY Cergy Paris Université).
